Dr. Martens Camden Stables ‘DM’s Boot Room’
Camden, London
Following the success of their Oxford St. store, Dr. Martens re-approached Closed Sundays to help them deliver the latest, and probably most important retail statement for the brand, the “DM’s Boot Room”.
They needed a space that epitomised Dr. Martens’ musical roots; was sympathetic to the grade 2 listed building; captured the rich history of authentic product from its archives and celebrated associated artists in a modern, museum-like way. And of course, it had play host to live music, free booze and a VR tour of their Cobbs Lane factory.
The answer? Bespoke flight cases. Acting as an anchor to the room, they provided the perfect platform to showase the precious (some priceless) archive items with appropriate attitude. The main focus of the room was of course the stage area. Designed to deliver both acoustic and DJ based music – perfect for the broad range of artists lined up to play at this one-of-a-kind venue in Camden.
The results have been astounding. As live acts have been regularly raising the roof, sales have been smashing through it!
Closed Sundays were responsible for the design, development, manufacture and installation of the space.
