What happens when your business is affected by a pandemic? Start a new one! That’s exactly what we did here at Closed Sundays.

Retail was closed and our clients were re-directing their marketing spends to on-line. So rather than twiddle our thumbs we turned our attentions to starting a local business in speciality coffee. Even though we’d never worked in the industry, we came up with a concept that would utilise our many skills of design, development, project management and eventually, sales.

First of all we sourced a 1964 Citroen H Van for the basis of our concept. Once designed, we worked with speciality van builders to re-wire, re-plumb and install all the necessary unitary required to meet the exacting standards of the EHO. To complete the concept we installed the very best machinery and received barista training from Coal Town Coffee before setting off on our journey.

Needless to say ‘Alain’ as he’s been lovingly named, has become a bit of a local legend and people travel from miles around to come and grab a coffee from him.
